Description:

Looking for experienced turn-tablists, wedding djs, karaoke and Music Trivia Game hosts.

  • 5+ years experience

  • Must have your own reliable vehicle

  • Cell phone

  • Ability to stay overnight when an event requires

​Preference given to those with 10+ years experience and having their own reliable dj gear.

Some gigs will provide 1 meal if attending 6+ hours, Some events provide accommodations

Permanent Position

​Description of duties

​​Working nights and odd hours will be a typical days work. A vehicle is not required for this job.

You will be assigned to a VIP to protect and monitor their ongoing safety. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Monitor the on-going safety of VIP

  • Checking for vulnerabilities at the client’s home, work & public venues

  • Preventing sexual harassment, unwanted touching, stalking, and dealing with threats.

  • Escort / transit VIP to and from various work sites, including pubs and night clubs, elite persons' private events, and other potentially dangerous places etc.

  • Secure public locations prior to the attendance by VIP

  • Identifying suspicious behavior or unauthorized people

  • Assisting VIP to safely flee the scene of a security threat.

  • Guard music / dj equipment: preventing loss, theft, and vandalism.

  • When necessary, perform bouncer details.

  • Roadie duties

NOTE:

Preference for skills in recruiting and training personnel. Knowledge of security gear, and safe practice.

Qualifications:

  • The ability to maintain a professional relationship with the VIP

  • Minimum 15 years experience in specialized security training.

  • Certification in higher levels security training or equivalent work experience

  • Able to lift 75 -100+lbs on command.

  • Martial arts background

  • Physical combat and defense skills

  • Evasive driving experience

  • Meet the standards of the "Candidate Physical Ability Test" (CPAT), or alternately prove physical fitness and endurance.

  • Able to pass security clearance, or prove bondability.

  • Firearms / weapons training

  • Certificate in BC's Basic Security Training,  or equivalent.

(For the right candidate, training funds are available to certify at Justice Institute of B.C. )

  • English Proficiency 

Assets:

  • High levels of discretion and confidentiality

  • Experience in safely using and securing deadly weapons

  • First Aide Level 1 or 2 certification or equivalent experience

  • Drivers license

  • Understanding of Arabic or Secwepemtsin would be an asset.

You will follow the direction of 1st in Command of the Security Division (Team Lead); to follow out duties related to protection of a VIP and/or workplace and/ or staging, dj equipment.  You will monitor the ongoing safety of a VIP, while maintaining a professional relationship with VIP!

Including, but not limited to:

  • Guard music dj equipment: preventing loss, theft, and vandalism

  • When necessary, perform bouncer details

  • Identifying suspicious behavior or unauthorized people

  • Checking for vulnerabilities at the client’s home, work & public venues (Secure public locations prior to the attendance by VIP)

  • Preventing sexual harassment, unwanted touching, stalking, and dealing with threats.

  • Escort / transit VIP to and from various work sites

  • Assisting VIP to safely flee the scene of a security threat

  • Roadie duties may be required of you. (Setup & Take down of staging/dj gear)

NOTE:

Description / Qualifications
​Sound technician (audio/video) certification, or able to prove competency through demonstration.  
  • Dmx lighting control experience 

  • Laser / fog controller programming

  • Ability to instruct roadies with  set up and take down of dj / band gear. Including the safe handling of equipment and prevention of damage, power surge issues

  • Set up audio / video and perform on-going sound/lighting system monitoring.
